Frequencies marked in bold are very active during a Shuttle or Rocket Launch. These are the frequencies that you should have programmed into your scanner.
If you are in the local area of KSC, the best 2Meter repeater for hearing Shuttle retransmissions is 146.9400. If you are in the Daytona Area 147.2700 is a reliable frequency for Shuttle retransmissions. Please note, the Ham Radio repeaters do not rebroadcast launch status of other Rocket Launches.
Also note, some websites publish 147.1500 as a Daytona Beach repeater rebroadcasting Shuttle comms. This repeater has not re-transmitted Shuttle audio since at least 6/20/01 as I have lived within 5 miles of that repeater since June 2001. For some reason that frequency still pops up on list and as recently as 2002 appeared in Popular Communications as being current. I emailed the author of that article to inform him of the status of 147.1500 however I never received a reply.

US Airforce Thunderbird Frequencies
Below are the frequencies used by the US Airforce Thunderbirds. Please take note that US Military frequencies in the 138-144 MHz range are in AM mode. Most scanners will default to FM if programming a frequencies of this range, you'll need to change the mode in order to hear comms on these frequencies.
